Atexcaco Hydroelectric Plant

The Atexcaco Hydroelectric Plant is located between the municipalities of Hueyapan and Teziutlán, in the state of Puebla. Autlán is proud of this project because it is a symbol of sustainable energy, state-of-the-art technology and environmental protection, as well as a driver of regional development through the jobs it provides.

Although construction was completed in 2011, it was not until the last quarter of 2013 that Autlán acquired control of CEM, thereby creating the Energy Division that is now known as Autlán Energy. The acquisition is a key factor in the company’s profitability and growth objectives.

The Atexcaco Hydroelectric Plant operates on a “run-of-the-river” system, so it generates electricity in harmony with nature, respecting the local flora and fauna. In addition, our facility has the Clean Industry certification granted by PROFEPA, as well as the ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications concerning our occupational health and safety, quality, and environmental management systems, respectively.
