Atexcaco Hydroelectric Plant
Autlán Energy mainly comprises Compañía de Energía Mexicana (CEM), a company that developed and now operates the Atexcaco Hydroelectric Plant in Puebla. Its main objective is to generate renewable energy to satisfy Autlán’s electricity needs. Grupo Ferrominero, S.A. de C.V. (GFM) founded CEM in 1998 to develop projects for generating electricity from renewable sources. Autlán Energy enhances the company’s vertical integration, adding electricity to its other main input: manganese.
